File versioning¶
SCDC Disk saves versions for each file stored in it. The saved versions of the file are stored as backups and can be used to restore data. The frequency of creating backup versions of a file depends on the duration of file activity:
- The first version is saved one second after starting work.
- During the first 10 seconds of operation, Nextcloud stores one version every 2 seconds.
- For the first minute, Nextcloud stores one version every 10 seconds
- For the first hour, Nextcloud stores one version every minute
- For the first 24 hours, Nextcloud stores one version every hour
- For the first 30 days, Nextcloud stores one version every day
- After the first 30 days, Nextcloud stores one version every week
When working on a jointly edited document in Onlyoffice, the changes are stored in a cache on the editor server and are saved to disk every minute, where the general rule described above applies.
Note
If all users close the tab with the file being edited, the most recent changes will be saved to the disk.
Viewing Versions¶
To view the saved versions of a file, click on the context menu button near it, select the Details
item and in the window that appears on the right, select the Versions
tab.
All saved versions of the file will be presented in the form of a list, indicating their age. In the version line, you can view the date and exact time of creation (1), open it in a new tab (2), and restore the file to the current state (3).
